Another weird week for me, but I'd like to focus on the positives:
Firstly, I finished a novel! I've had trouble with getting back into reading as an adult, so this was cool and significant for me. The book was Piranesi by Susanna Clarke. I really liked the mystery and the interesting writing style, and I won't say anything else about it in case you'd like to read it yourself.
I started an object-oriented programming course on YouTube. It's right at my (quite basic) level, and though the guy overexplains for my pace, it's easy to skip through the review sections or use them as stopping points. Not very far through yet, but interested in doing some beginner projects when I get through it.
Also, I went to a local zine fest. It was neat to see everyone's unique styles of zines and other creative stuff. Still want to make a zine of my own, and I have an idea or two...just gotta make the time!
Hopeful about getting my exercise routine in order. By which I mean, actually making it a routine. Another thing I struggle with, but it's so good for you and I don't think I can afford to continue not doing it.
And....also, I'm still not getting on socials. Maybe I can't resist a lil' scroll on the YouTube feed, but I haven't gotten on Mastodon in weeks. I don't really miss it? I dunno, if I'm going to talk to strangers I might as well go find a meetup in person. There is cool stuff on there, so maybe I'll revisit it at some point. But not today.
Albums I've been into:
Still need to listen to Kenshi Yonezu's last like...3 singles. He's one of my favorite artists, but I just keep listening to his most recent album (LOST CORNER) instead of actually clicking on his new songs. Damn I love Kenshi Yonezu. Maybe I'll actually listen to his interviews one of these days (I speak Japanese, I don't think I've brought that up??). And then I can learn like anything about him. I just think his music is great and he's extremely tall, which is cool.
